Psalms: The School of Prayer

An 11 week study on the Psalms. While the historical books of the Bible recount God’s creative and redemptive acts in history, the Psalms reveal Israel’s response to God’s covenant offer and serve as a model for our response to Him. The Psalms tell the “inside” story, which comes from the deeply personal perspective of one who is seeking God. Our communication with God is enhanced by a deeper understanding of the book of Psalms and of the individual psalms that reside in each of our hearts.

· Thursdays from 7—9 p.m. beginning September 22, facilitated by Dan Tardiff, 248-689-1936 or E-Mail

· The cost is $24 per person. Register through the Religious Education Office, Ext. 111. Your check should be made out to St. Anastasia, with “Psalm Bible Study” in the memo line.

James: Pearls for Wise Living

An 11 week study on the book of James. James is one of the most practical books of the Bible. Like the book of Proverbs, it is a book of wisdom, a collection of teachings on issues faced by ordinary Christians in everyday life. For anyone who has struggled to live a truly Christian life, James offers a wealth of practical solutions for handling and even sanctifying everyday circumstances..

· Mondays from 7—9 p.m. begins Sept 12, facilitated by Pat McInerney, pmcinerney.atr@att.net or 248-892-1332.

A Biblical Walk Through the Mass

Do you ever wish you could “get more” out of Mass? One key for unlocking the mystery of the Mass is Scripture. The climax of salvation history itself is made present sacramentally in the Mass. The more we know about the Biblical roots of the Mass, the more we will come to appreciate the splendor of the liturgy and the more we will be prepared to encounter Jesus and give ourselves to Him at every Mass.

The beauty and power of the Mass can be better appreciated when we understand the significance of the Holy Eucharist as a sacrifice, Jesus Christ’s real presence and as our communion meal.

Please join your brothers and sisters in our church community to hear God’s message and unlocking this precious and sacred mystery of the Mass – a legacy that our Lord Jesus Christ has left for us.

¯ Monday evening from 7—8:30 p.m. beginning September 19. We will meet for 5 consecutive weeks in the Pastoral Center Room 111/112. This study will be offered again in January.

¯ Cost: $20 for materials (can be shared by two)

¯ If you have questions, call Regina Simony at 248-689-8380, Ext. 120.

¯ Registration can be made through the Religious Education Office, Ext. 111 or E-Mail.
