Confirmation Program Year 1 & Year 2
Confirmation Prep (Grade 7+). We use the Chosen DVD series (by Ascension Press) for our Confirmation Program. This dynamic 24 lesson program starts in Year 1 (teens in at least 7th Grade – up to 9th Grade) and is completed at the end (Spring) of Year 2 (typically 8th Grade – up to 10th Grade) with the Sacrament of Confirmation. The goal of the Chosen program is to prepare teens both intellectually and spiritually to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and to become lifelong disciples of Christ.
Both Year 1 and Year 2 classes meet about twice a month in-person on Sundays, 11:15AM – 12:45PM. There are a couple of exceptions to these days/times. See schedule below. There is a $50 Sacrament Fee (per teen) associated with this program.
Confirmation Day for Year 2 students has been approved. The day of Confirmation is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11AM. There will be a mandatory rehearsal the evening of Thursday, March 5th.

Confirmation Attendance Policy: Confirmation preparation is crucial to the spiritual growth of the candidate, so 100% attendance is required for all sessions by the end of each year. The classroom peer-to-peer setting is a critical aspect to the Chosen Program, so while at home make-up sessions are available, ideally students will attend an in-person make-up session. A student may not have more than 2 excused or unexcused absences and make-up sessions are required. It is important to email Sophia Gaves, Confirmation coordinator, or call 248-689-8380 Ext. 108 as soon as you are aware of any schedule conflict. Please review your family and sports schedules beforehand and understand attendance at ALL classes is mandatory for credit (make-up sessions are offered as a courtesy – and not as a substitute to the classroom).
