The tradition of blessing Easter foods arose from the strict Lenten fasting practices of the past, where certain foods, like meat and eggs, were forbidden. Easter marked the end of this fasting, and the blessing of foods was a way to celebrate the joy of Christ’s Resurrection and the return of these foods.
Join us on Holy Saturday, April 4th at 11:00 AM in the church and get your Easter food blessed!
