Children’s Catechumenate

This class helps children who are over the age of 7 to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

This class is intended for children between the ages of 7 and 13 who:

  • have not been baptized, or
  • were baptized in another Christian denomination and would like to join the Catholic Church, or
  • were baptized Catholic but have not received any religious education or instruction

Note: The Children’s Catechumenate does not replace regular religious education classes. If your child was baptized Catholic, is in the second or third grade, but has not yet had religious education, he/she will be placed in another class. Also, those who complete the Catechumenate program are highly encouraged to attend Religious Education classes with their peers. Every situation is unique; please email the Religious Education Office for a discussion.
