What is World Youth Day?
World Youth Day is a great meeting of young people from all over the world gathered around the Vicar of Christ. It is one of the primary means by which the Church proclaims the message of Christ to young people. The primary objective of WYD is to make the message of Christ known to all young people worldwide. WYD has a clear Catholic identity, but is open to all young people worldwide. It is aimed primarily at young Catholics and other youth of good will who seek to personally experience the love of God through His Son Jesus Christ and who foster brotherly love and concern for those in need.
WYD has proven to be a unique opportunity for thousands of young people from all over the world to meet, establish friendships, and learn from one another. St. Anastasia has participated in the past 6 WYD pilgrimages.
