South Oakland Shelter will take place the weekend of March 6 & 7. We are in need of volunteers to help with early morning breakfast, dinner, bag lunches, overnight hosting and driving homeless guests to and from First Presbyterian and the SOS office in downtown Royal Oak. Volunteers please give us a call and let us know how you can help. If you have not signed up but would like to volunteer just call us. Jim and Cindy Bliskey 248-689-1581 or Anne Lamont 248-879-0588.
Beaumont and Homebound Minister Training will be offered by Fr. Mark Prill in the church on Thursday, March 4. This is a great opportunity to revitalize your love and reverence for the Eucharist as you present it to those in need.
Project Linus is in a transition phase right now. You should have gotten your new information in the mail during the last week of January. Our new leader is Allyson Wyckhuyse. Our next blanket party will be on Saturday, March 6. All are welcome; view your invitation right here: Invitation
The Stephen Ministry training is going strong; only a few more weeks to go! We are SO blessed to have these dedicated people learning how to help others. Please continue to pray for all involved.
7th Annual Easter Egg Drop
The night before Easter Sunday, volunteers quietly cover the lawns of unknowing families with dozens and dozens of stuffed eggs. It is a big surprise for both the kids and parents Easter morning.
Last year we surprised 26 families that due to a family illness or loss of a loved one were referred to us. Our goal is to collect at least 6,000 stuffed eggs. Please consider stuffing a dozen or two. For more information and fun stuffing ideas please see the Faith@Work website. Contact Faith@Work if you know of a family that could use an Easter surprise this year. Please have the eggs to us by Wednesday March 31st. (248-250-9216)
