Jottings from Fr. J.J.

HAPPY EASTER!!! – Alleluia!

It is nice being able to proclaim that again. We have spent the last 40 days in preparation for this moment. Let the Easter celebrations begin. First off, welcome to all of the 15 adults and 7 kids who experienced the Sacraments of Initiation at the Vigil! Bask in what it is that the Lord has done. We are so glad that you are now an official part of the community of St. Anastasia and the  entire Church.

Secondly, it is springtime, the time to welcome back the tulips, the crocuses and the daffodils. It’s a time of new suits and new dresses. It is the time to get together with family and friends and eat. Most importantly, it is the time for Christians to celebrate the life and the resurrection of Christ. It is a time when many come to a church building that they have not seen for some time, maybe since Christmas or even longer. If that last statement includes you, it is also a time in which I would like to invite you, like the folks who have been initiated in at the Vigil, to join us on a regular basis. As our transom states: You are Always Loved and Always Welcome!

We believe in a God who actually does communicate with his people. We believe that He can be met personally and we believe that a relationship with Him can ground an individual’s life. If you are having trouble experiencing God, we can help here at St. Anastasia. It can be done in your own experiences with our community at work in service, at the liturgy, or even privately and intimately in prayer. There are countless ways to make connections with God and bring fulfillment to your life by getting involved in this amazing parish.

Maybe the Lord is inviting you to experience your own resurrection by getting involved in a new way. Check out our website, pray about it, and go with your gut. I bet you will be happy you did. We look forward to seeing you on a regular basis.

God bless,
Fr. J.J.
