I was just scanning a book about Blessed Mother Teresa which offered some wise comfort that I’d like to share with you. I am often tempted to discouragement when I look at the state of the Church – the many doubters and unbelievers (even in the pews… some days in the mirror) and the many problems (again, in the mirror). But one of her prayers reminded me that the Church is the Body of Christ, the wounded body of Jesus Christ. What happens through His wounded body? Salvation of the world. Pure sacrifice. Absolute love. And what happens to the wounded body? Resurrection. Glorification. Eternal, abundant life. Ah, happy Easter, Church! Alleluia.
