Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Coordinator:  Olivia McCarthy, 248-689-8380, Ext. 111

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is for our youngest students (ages 3-5). We have limited enrollment options for the following sessions:

Religious Ed CGS (Preschool) Class Schedule for 2017-18

Sundays, 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Mondays, 4:45-6 p.m.

Saturdays, 10 – 11:30 a.m. (Spanish)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd takes place in our special Atrium room in the back hallway of the Administrative Center.  In everyone’s best interest, each class size is limited to 8 students. If you would like to register for CGS, please call the Religious Education Office to see if we have any openings or perhaps be added to a wait list.

Although Kindergartners are welcome to participate in CGS, if the class is full, we also have another option for Kindergarten on Mondays at 4:45 p.m., Tuesdays at 4:45 p.m. or Tuesdays at 6:45 p.m.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. The children gather in an “Atrium,” a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use.
