Class Options

CLASS OPTIONS – Classes meet weekly (unless stated) beginning the last week of September:

For Preschool – 2nd Grade (AND new students): Please turn in a copy of your child’s BAPTISM certificate to the Religious Education Office (even if he/she was baptized at St. Anastasia) at the time of registration – unless you already did turn one in.)

* Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) – limited enrollment for ages 3 – 5, must be potty trained:  Sunday, 8 – 9:30a (for children who already attended CGS), Sunday 10-11:30a (for children new to CGS) and *NEW* Wednesday, 9:30 – 10:45a. We can only take 8 students per session. Please sign up with payment in full ASAP as these classes fill quickly.

* Kindergarten:   *NEW* Monday 4:45 – 6p or Tuesday  4:45 – 6p

* Grades 1 – 5:     Monday 4:45 – 6p or Monday 6:45 – 8p or Tuesday 4:45 – 6p

* Grades 6 – 8:    Wednesday 4:45 – 6p or Wednesday 6:45 – 8p or Thursday 4 – 5:15p

* Grade 9:             Sunday  11:30a – 1p (2x per month)

* Sacrament Prep:  Sunday 11:30a – 1p (this is for children in grade 4 – 6 who have not yet made their First Holy Communion – must first have one year of formation in grade level class – please note on the form if your child has not made his/her First Holy Communion – AND provide a copy of your child’s BAPTISM certificate with registration). PARENTS: Please note that there is a parent component to this student class. A parent is expected to attend the RCIA (adult faith) classes that run at the same time as the student class. * Spanish Religious Ed:  Saturday 10 – 11:30a (as of September 1st: Level 1 is for students who are 6 years old; Level 2 is for students who are 7 years old; Level 3 is the Sacrament year for students 8 – 10 years old; Level 4 is for children up to grade 5 who have already celebrated First Holy Communion). We also have Spanish Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for Preschool / Kindergarten which also meets Saturdays at 10 a.m.

* Alternative Curriculum: Sunday (TBD) – for children who need extra help in the classroom – please call the Religious Education Office to discuss 248-689-8380, Ext. 111.
