Catholic Biblical School of Michigan

Embark on a Journey

Study Sacred Scripture… Understand the significance of God’s Word in your life!

This fall the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan (CBSM) continues with this exciting Scripture study at multiple locations (including St. Anastasia!) in our Archdiocese. Based on the curriculum of the immensely successful Denver Catholic Biblical School, this remarkable program offers an opportunity to read and study the entire Bible over the course of four years. Under the guidance of trained, inspired instructors – all have at least a Master’s Degree – participants study the Bible systematically with the help of lectures, small-group discussions, weekly coursework, and an annual day-long retreat. Archbishop Allen Vigneron supports this important endeavor and the CBSM courses are available for academic credit through Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Whether you have been a long-time student of the Scriptures or are a beginner, these classes will help you discover the timelessness of God’s Word and transform your life!

Course of study:

  • YEAR A: From Eden to Exile: Salvation History from Genesis to 2 Maccabees
  • YEAR B: Proclaiming the Kingdom: The Synoptic Gospels, Acts and the Letters of Paul
  • YEAR C: A Future and a Hope: The Prophets, Tobit, Judith and Esther
  • YEAR D: Wisdom and the Word: The Psalms and Wisdom Literature, Catholic Epistles, John and Revelation

St. Anastasia has started a new round of Year A classes on Thursday mornings and Thursday evenings!

Additional Year A classes are being held at Holy Family, Memphis; St. John Neumann, Canton; and St. Mary Star of the Sea, Jackson.
