Nudged By God

 Turn to God

My prayer for you is that you take time to rest and rejuvenate and ask the Lord to give you the strength for what He will be calling you to do and what He will be calling you to participate in this new year. There are many programs and ministries of St. Anastasia’s Adult Faith Formation which are in full swing. From the various scripture studies to the Alpha Course, from RCIA to the Evangelization committee, from F3, the Young Adult group, to those discerning vocations, St. Anastasia offers many opportunities to explore. Adults are attending, searching for God and filling the void. We even have a Guadalupano Group for Spanish speaking parishioners that meets Monday mornings for fellowship and service. If you’re looking for a way to connect and grow in your faith, please call me! We do have groups meeting throughout the year.

No matter where you are on your journey of faith, there is always more treasure to find. We invite you to discover the possibilities here at St. Anastasia. Always loved. Always welcomed.

If You Could Ask God…

If you could ask God one question, what would it be?

Is there more to life?  What am I doing here? Are these questions you have asked yourself?  Would you like to explore these questions and invite others you care about to join you in this search?

Alpha is coming to St. Anastasia beginning September 4, 2014 with an introductory dinner at 6:30 PM.  Alpha is a twelve week program and includes a day of retreat.  We will be hosting Alpha on Thursday evenings.  Alpha has been run in 169 countries and by many denominations.

We are presenting Alpha in response to a need many of us feel to become closer to the Lord and have a friendly, non-threatening place to invite those we would like to have share in a deeper relationship with the Lord.

Embark on a Journey

Study Sacred Scripture… Understand the significance of God’s Word in your life!

This fall the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan (CBSM) continues with this exciting Scripture study at multiple locations (including St. Anastasia!) in our Archdiocese. Based on the curriculum of the immensely successful Denver Catholic Biblical School, this remarkable program offers an opportunity to read and study the entire Bible over the course of four years. Under the guidance of trained, inspired instructors – all have at least a Master’s Degree – participants study the Bible systematically with the help of lectures, small-group discussions, weekly coursework, and an annual day-long retreat. Archbishop Allen Vigneron supports this important endeavor and the CBSM courses are available for academic credit through Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Whether you have been a long-time student of the Scriptures or are a beginner, these classes will help you discover the timelessness of God’s Word and transform your life!

Course of study:

  • YEAR A: From Eden to Exile: Salvation History from Genesis to 2 Maccabees
  • YEAR B: Proclaiming the Kingdom: The Synoptic Gospels, Acts and the Letters of Paul
  • YEAR C: A Future and a Hope: The Prophets, Tobit, Judith and Esther
  • YEAR D: Wisdom and the Word: The Psalms and Wisdom Literature, Catholic Epistles, John and Revelation
