His daughter looked at him and asked, “Daddy, if I talk to God, will he listen?”
He froze. He was so completely unprepared for the question. In his panic, he had a quick thought: Who told you about God? He certainly hadn’t initiated the conversation, and he thought he knew everything she had learned in school.
Excerpt from a father’s actual experience.
Have you ever noticed that children have lots of questions about God, but they never seem to question God’s existence? They know He exists.
Fast forward to that time and place where that pure innocent faith is left behind, replaced by doubt, uncertainty or plain apathy. Somehow, God is nudged out of the picture and out of our lives.
We’re left with the feeling that something’s missing, but it’s easy to ignore in the bustle of living. When we find ourselves in a moment of quiet, we realize the thing we search for still eludes us.
But God nudges us back. And our response to His nudge can be life-changing.
Summer has just begun and we take great pleasure in the beauty God provides for us during these summer months. My prayer for you is that you take time to rest and rejuvenate and ask the Lord to give you the strength for what He will be calling you to do and what He will be calling you to participate in this fall. There are many programs and ministries of St. Anastasia’s Adult Faith Formation which will be in full swing in the fall. From the various scripture studies to the Alpha Course, C2C Discipleship program, from RCIA to the Evangelization committee, from F3, the Young Adult group, to those discerning vocations, St. Anastasia offers many opportunities to explore. Adults are attending, searching for God and filling the void. If you’re looking for a way to connect and grow in your faith, please call me! We do have groups meeting this summer as well.
No matter where you are on your journey of faith, there is always more treasure to find. We invite you to discover the possibilities here at St. Anastasia. Always loved. Always welcomed.
