We are looking for another 15 to 20 people to become ushers. We are particularly short at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 12:15 p.m. Sunday Masses. We have some current ushers that are having medical issues and can’t physically do the job as they once could. Without an adequate number of ushers to draw from, it becomes burdensome for those who do serve in this ministry. At worst, with too few ushers at a given Mass, we may miss someone who needs the Body of Christ brought to them because they cannot come forward during Communion. And if there are only two or three ushers to take up the entire collection, they may not get the collection gathered and into the safe in time to return for the start of the Eucharistic Prayer.
Please consider joining this ministry. We try to schedule ushers to serve every three to four weeks. If we had 15 more for Saturday, for example, then I could create a new team, and everyone would be on a four week schedule. Call me directly, and I will add you to our ranks. Our responsibilities are not complicated, and I will gladly train you. Many hands make light work!
